Dutch company is looking for renewable alternatives for virgin plastics

 

A Dutch company active in sustainable tube packaging market in Europe can’t rely on bio (PE) based on sugarcane alone to fulfill the companies needs of raw materials. Therefore the company is looking for alternative biobased plastics. Companies and inventors are sought via a technical cooperation agreement or a license agreement.
 

A Dutch company manufactures plastic tubes, caps and custom packaging and is a leading company in the tube packaging market in Europe. The company introduced tubes made from 100% bio-based virgin plastics in 2010. Together with their customers they have realized 100% bio-based tubes and 100% recycled tubes Since then the demand of the bio-based plastics dramatically increased and now the current supply cannot keep up. At this moment there seems to be only one suitable solution for virgin bio-based polyethylene (PE); sugarcane from Brazil.

Renewable sources are vital for this company, not to be confused with bio-degradable plastics. With the demand increasing faster than the increase of supply, the company is in need of different bio-sources for virgin plastics.

The company is looking for alternatives to the currently used tubes based un sugarcanes PE with companies,or inventors in the framework of a technical cooperation agreement or a license agreement.

They can offer support and test environment and the probability of a follow-up order, scaling up or lasting cooperation.

The company is looking for virgin plastics (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PLA or other possible alternatives) based upon a renewable source. The requested solution comprises an creative and sustainable approach and can be a mix of a variety of expertise’s:

• Knowledge of materials
• Chemical technology
• Circular economy

The company is looking for cooperation with companies, or inventors via a technical cooperation agreement or a license agreement for either a shelf ready solution or solution that can be converted to a suitable option for both tubes and closures.
